Outfit of the Day: Resurrected.

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

I was looking back on this blog and realized that I haven’t done one of these in so long.   I miss it!  So here it goes…

Was feeling a little silly:

Typically, I would pick the few best photos from the mini OOTD photo shoot and present them here.  But I was having so much fun and so excited to be resurrecting the OOTDs, that I’m including them all—ridiculous fun.

This one is my favorite.  See if you can spot the surprise in the background.

Boots:  Matisse

Shirt: Michael Stars from Scout and Molly’s.

Dress: from Radiance (Indie shop on Hilton Head Island)

Necklace:  Purchased on the street in Mexico City.

betsy & iya: What I would have worn with this… The Desert Landing Hoop.

Time of my life.

Outfits are BACK.

Outfit of the Day: black and blue.

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

We have been amping up our workouts lately.  Not for any particular reason (except for, maybe, that I turn 30 in..oh… 1.5 weeks and I’m, maybe, having a slight crisis about it??), we just want to feel good, strong, and healthy.

It feels great.  Like if I needed to be on pills for depression, this would be my pill.  I wake up, take my workout pill, and go to work—or vice versa.  BAM, productivity, bright and light happy work for the remainder of the day.  After three days of this back to back, though, I now feel like someone has dragged me from the back of a pickup truck on an inner tube—I’ve been fighting to stay on that tube so as not to skin myself (seriousy, kids, it is this dramatic), and I’ve succeeded, but not without some dings and near misses.  I ache.  I move slow.  I groan.  I’m black and blue.

I’m counting 1.2.3. (thank you, steph) to get in and out of the car, on and off the stairs, opening and closing doors, hammering ear wires, moving my head to the right to answer a question—IT ALL HURTS!!  But at the same time, it feels so good.

Black pants:  Scout & Molly’s

Blue (oooo ahhhh back shirt): Adorn

Feather Hoops:  betsy & iya

LOVE this crazy awesome vintage dress from Archivia in Brooklyn.  Her whole store makes me drool!!

This cute original art from Stephanie Levy in Germany, um…because who doesn’t love freshly squeezed lemonade on a hot (Portland) spring day?

This bag from Pansy Maiden in Boston…because I love Salmon colored anything right now and I need a new bag—though, I need a bag I can strap over my body for bike riding…hmmm.

I love love love this wedding dress by Sarah Seven.  The awesome thing is that she randomly visited me in my studio one day, checking out the space that was open next to mine.  We hit it off immediately and that was before I knew I would be getting married soon.  As soon as I found out, I contacted her to see if we could work together on a special custom piece for me.  She also really digs my jewelry (huge plus), so we’re really going to make this one something to remember.

…and this accessory to go with it, from Austie—another amazing talented gal who popped into my studio one day.  Austie and Sarah Seven are quite the dynamic duo.

Lastly,

I would want this print from one of my new favorites, Apak.  I first discovered their work when on my SF/LA tour.  I stumbled into Little Otsu in SF (and just recently saw them featured on the new Handmade Nation movie) and fell in love with Apak Studio’s work, immediately.  I was so chuffed to discover that they are also from Portland and that I can purchase more of their work on Etsy.

As mentioned before there’s nothing like the customer service you’ll find in your Grandma’s basement and there’s also nothing like shopping local.

Gotta get to work now…uh…will I EVER catch up!?!!
