Sunday, be there: CRAFTY WONDERLAND

Friday, December 11th, 2009

I’m in the thick of it.  I’m also fighting a cold.  Why does that happen??  this is what I looked like yesterday: awesome.

(this from my home botox kit.)

hehehe…JK!!  amazing, home botox kits—what the!?  my beautifully plump lips come from a natural chapped and full-on nose blowing state.  Luckily, this one is going fast.  I’m much better today.  by Sunday, I should be back in top form.

If you’re in or near Portland on Sunday, you MUST come to Crafty Wonderland.  Some of my all time favorite crafters and artists will be there.  It is absolutey not to be missed. check out the deets below:

Our booth will be OFF. THE. HOOK.  My assistant, Lupe, has been working her tail off to make our CRAFTY booth an atmosphere you won’t forget.  Also, the amazingly stylish Courtney from kelly + olive put in some time to give me her incomparable opinion on the endless possibilities with booth decor.  It’s gonna rock, y’all.

More on my life and love and warm fuzzy thoughts when the holidays end and I become a normal person again.  I am SO grateful to all of you for your support, kindness, generosity, and invigorating enthusiasm over b & i…hands down, would not be doing this without you.  thank you.  from the bottom of my heart.

big huge weekend love,

Seven Dees holiday event 2009

This is just the beginning, you guys.  Seriously.  Stay tuned for announcements of MANY more holiday events to come!  Including:

Crafty Wonderland’s Super Colossal Holiday Event

and at the fashion show JUNK to FUNK at the Crystal Ballroom!  (I’ll be unleashing the whole of my Old Turns New line.)

Also, lookout for many more Outfits of the Days (the easiest way for me to stay in touch with the blogosphere while maintaining a crazy holiday season!).

For now, it’s time to make my fingers fall off.  (I need to make at LEAST 40 pairs of earrings today).  Have lovely Mondays!!  xo-betsy

st(St John’s Bizarre, May 2009.  Those massive earrings I’m wearing are a new pair, inspired by Sheila from Rock n’ Rose.  Lookout for them in my shop SOON.)

Okay, I can’t think of a better title to encompass the whirlwind that has been my life the past few weeks/months.  And then there’s the past few days where I’ve sort of been sitting zombie-like, with my jaw dropped reflecting on all that has happened and all that is about to happen in my life.  It’s like I’ve been hit with a frying pan and I’m seeing the pretty stars circling around my head, while blinking very slowly.

The last two street shows have been the best we’ve ever done.  The weeks leading up, I basically made jewelry until my fingers bled.  And now I must prepare for the Rose Festival (I’m selling with Handmade NW right on Waterfront Village!!!)  and then comes…New York!!  That’s right, NYC friends, I’ll be at a MASSIVE show at the end of June, for 5 days!!  I am also planning on hitting up some NY stores to try and get in long term.  Any suggestions??

Stay tuned, I’ve gotten some great suggestions on this blog and I intend to tune in more often than I have as of late.  I think I just needed to break for a second.  One thing that’s for sure—you all love the Outfits of the Days!!  This actually really cracks me up, because even though I love playing dress up, I feel a bit like a fashion impostor.  Maybe that’s why you love it so?—it does truly make me giggle sometimes.

Lookout for upcoming OOTDs.  Tomorrow’s might be my favorite of the month.  Here’s a teaser.  I like to call this photo:  Locker Butt.  (I’ll explain tomorrow).

PDX International Women’s Day

Portland International Women's Day by Tessa Hulls

Did you know:

“On March 8, 1857, thousands of working women marched through the streets of New York City demanding an end to sweat-shop conditions, improved childcare facilities, equal pay for equal work, and the right to vote. In 1910 at the International Conference of Women Socialists, Clara Zetkins proposed that March 8th be observed as International Working Women’s Day in honor of the New York March. Since that time, International Women’s Day has been celebrated around the globe.”

Guess what?  It’s March 8 again!  That means more than springing ahead (you did reset your clocks, right???).  It means there’s an awesome festival in town that I’m thrilled to be a part of.  Come see me (and SOOO much more) today:

When: Sunday, March 8th, 2009
Where: Portland State University Smith Center (1825 SW Broadway)
Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Cost: Free and donations are welcomed

(thanks to Tessa Hulls and PIWD 2009 for the beautiful art and quoted text, respectively, in this post.)
